About Me
HI! I'M NARMIN KASSAM
Canadian artist Narmin creates art as a means of personal exploration, self-expression, and conveying a message. As a meditative practice, her artwork draws the viewer into an impactful experience of reflection and contemplation on themes such as women’s empowerment, gender equality, and diversity.

Taught by Gordon Harrison, she paints with an impressionistic style that has evolved into mixed media, including weaving together paint and decorative paper on wood panels. Using her unique style, Kassam captures the richness of cultural identity, the power of feminine expression, and the importance of inclusion in her work.

Kassam has exhibited her works in galleries in Canada, including the Manotick Art Gallery (Ottawa 2019), SEEN National Virtual Exhibition inspired by the Aga Khan Museum (Canada 2022), Roundhouse Centre (Vancouver 2022), and the Surrey Art Gallery (2023). The Women United Art Movement will showcase Kassam in a forthcoming solo show in 2025. As well, Kassam will featured by Goddess Arts Magazine (theme Feminine Energy) in an upcoming edition and a group show in 2025. She has also led the execution of large-scale collaborative mural installations (Ottawa 2018, Toronto 2018, Calgary 2021). Kassam's journey and works have been featured in publications including Art Seen Magazine, New Visionary Magazine, Artany Magazine, the Visual Art Journal, and the Arts to Hearts Project 100 Emerging Artists of 2024 Book. In 2024, she was longlisted for the annual Women United Art Prize in the Collage and Fibre Art category.
